Needra Jenkins brings decades of courtroom experience and firsthand knowledge of how government systems operate, and where they fail.
She uses that experience to help families cut through bureaucracy and obtain real results for their children.
Needra served as Executive Director of Los Angeles County’s Mental Health Diversion program in the District Attorney’s Office, working at the intersection of law, policy, and implementation inside a complex public system.
She also served as Chief of Staff and General Counsel to a Los Angeles County Supervisor, overseeing multidisciplinary teams and policy areas including public safety, human services, constituent services, and legislation.
Deep institutional knowledge, built over decades
Earlier in her career, Needra served for over a decade as in-house counsel to the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, where she tried complex cases and advised on high-stakes matters.
She also represented multiple County departments, including the Sheriff’s Department, Departments of Mental Health, Children and Family Services, and Public Works.
This combination, extensive courtroom experience and deep institutional knowledge, allows her to navigate and challenge complex systems effectively.
Needra earned her bachelor’s degree in history and her master’s degree in social science from the University of Chicago, and her law degree from the UCLA School of Law.
She is also a mother of three, a science fiction enthusiast, Scrabble player, hiker, cook, gardener, and avid reader.
